HIBI
Founded by a Nigerian-American who was born and raised in Minnesota, Debbie first had Zobo while studying abroad in Nigeria in the late 2000s.
After returning to the U.S., years passed before she could get her hands on zobo again because it was seemingly not sold anywhere. With the help of Debbie’s mother, Mary, she acquired the authentic recipe from family members back in Nigeria (Mary returns to Nigeria every summer to run a camp)!
Looking for something to focus on post-retirement, Mary and Debbie decided to team up to create Hibi. The mother-daughter duo has a goal of sharing a piece of Nigeria with first Minnesota, and next the world.
